First Date

| | Comments (1)

Today I had a date with a girl I met last week. For starting at 12PM and ending about a half hour ago, I'd say it went pretty well. Actually, really fucking well. I will be calling her back soon. Fun times.

In the future, I will be posting about the Christmas gift to end all Christmas gifts. I just need a picture of it first.

Happy Birthday Jesus

I got Jesus this for his birthday, except I don't know his address.

Year of Change (T-minus 360 days)

| | Comments (6)

Odd how these tend to happen, these marked periods of change. Odder still are the ways the changes manifest themselves. They show up in ever changing and interesting ways. You never expect a harmless action to be met with negative respone and, in the end, have this prove to be a positive change.

And, So, It Begins...

Happy birthday to me! It is 1:40AM and I have been 24 for nearly 2 hours. And, though it started long before now, thus begins my year of change. A definite start to an indeterminable beginning.

Fuck, that's pretentious. Let's do it, kids.

So let them come...let them all come,
Lords and ladies, sluts and freaks,
Goths and dandies, charlatans and tweaks,
Punks and hipsters, drama-queens and whores,
Brats, cheerleaders, klub kids and more
Let them all come, come one, come all,
To the grand celebration of Matt's birthday ball

Saturday. Be there.

Harry Potter

Okay. So, Tasha and I have been chatting via IM for a bit now. In these brief discussions, I have decided that my Harry Potter name, if I were a wizard in the Harry Potter universe, would be:

His Malevolence Excreta Excrutio

I'd be, like, a chaotic neutral ninja-wizard.

Week of Birthday Madness

|

That's right. A week. I have, so far, an entire week of partying lined up for celebration of my birthday. Starting tomorrow evening and running clear through till Monday next week. Surely seven days is a lot, but is it enough? Hell no! But, for now, it will do.

Coming up on 24, baby. Let's do it.

Current Top 5 Movies of All Time

| | Comments (6)

So, I did a "Current Top 5 Albums of All Time." Now times for movies. As before, this list is likely to change in the coming years, but, for now, these are my current top 5 favorite movies of all time. You are encouraged to leave your own top 5 in the comments. In no particular order:

  • The Fifth Element
Awesome movie. Milla Jovovich's boobs make a short appearance, which is appreciated. Gary Oldman in his weakest role, which is still tons better than the best Jim Carey role. Funny with a good dose of theological myth tossed in. Love it. Visually, one of the best scifi movies ever.
  • The Emperor's New Groove
The best Disney movie ever. Perfect comedic timing coupled with over-the-top physical reactions. David Spade at his best, which is saying something. (Fun Fact: I lost my virginity while a David Spade movie was playing).
  • Amélie
Pretty French girl falls in love and leads love interest on crazy scavenger hunt through some French town. Probably Marseille or Paris or something. What's not to love!? Also, seeimngly filmed with a green filter of the lens. I think this is indicative of post-modern French cinema.
  • The Matrix
First, shut the fuck up. We know Keanu is easily out-acted by a pile of oily rags. This movie blew your mind and you know it. Philosophically important. Sweet ass kung-fu. And guns. Lots and lots of guns.
  • The Seven Samurai
Besides the fact that there are both ninjas and samuari in this movie, it's influenced damn near every movie you've ever seen. And it rocks.

So, there you go. Have at it. Leave your lists in the comments.

On Drinking

| | Comments (6)

There is the very real possibility I had too much to drink last night. Indications of this include waking up in an unfamiliar bed which was, in fact, the same bed I sleep in 95% of the time. I had just failed to recognize it. Then there is the matter of how I got into bed. I didn't fall asleep there. I fell asleep downstairs in front of the TV. And I live alone. How, then, did I make it upstairs to my bed?

Also, I had a pile of clean laundry on my bed which I had intended to fold at some point. I just slept next to it. I didn't move it despite the fact it took up most of the bed because, naturally, I had placed it right in the center. Instead, I sleep at a 60° angle alongside the clothes. While it sounds uncomfortable, it was surprisingly nice and made dressing this morning for work one of the easier chores of the day.

And when did I make a grilled cheese sandwhich? At what point did that seem like a good idea? Well, alright. Grilled cheese is pretty much always a good idea, but, seriously, I didn't leave the party till 2AM (which, at that point, I pretty much was the party) so I must have gotten home around 2:30 and thought, "Shit yeah! Grilled cheese, baby! HAHA!"

Good Lord.
